One of television’s most popular show among African Americans is back for a fourth season! Bodacious Nikki Parker (Mo’Nique) continues to impose her exuberant, irrepressible self in the home and campus life of her daughter, and Kim (Countess Vaughn), who it turns out is much more like her mother than she’d care to admit, makes it quite clear that she’d rather not have her style cramped.
Now that they have been roommates and attended Santa Monica College together for two years, Nikki and Kim’s mother-daughter relationship has evolved. Nikki has adjusted to the fact that her daughter is old enough to live on her own and Kim has begun to see that Nikki has more going on than just being her mom. But that doesn’t mean it’s all smooth-sailing in the Parker household.
THE PARKERS, a spin-off of the popular sitcom “Moesha”, was created by the same trio that created “Moesha,” Sara V Finney, Ralph Farquhar and Vida Spears. THE PARKERS is produced by Big Ticket Television, A Paramount/Viacom Company.
MoMque is Nikki Parker who, like Mo’Nique herself, has a big personality and an even bigger heart. “She’s all of me, “says Mo’Nique, `All my comedy is based on me – I am sexy, full-figured, very outspoken and a glamour doll. Nikki Parker is that same person. I met with the producers about doing a talk show but that night my agent called said I had a sitcom deal playing myself. I was thrilled. ”
Mo’Nique – won the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series in 2001 and again in 2002.
Not only is this award winning comedienne and actress the star of the UPN’s popular sitcom, “The Parkers,” she is now appearing across television screens as the first female host of the late night, long running and historic fixture “Showtime At The Apollo.”
Be on the lookout for Mo’Nique’s upcoming projects:
